Just a day after Barton Corbin plead guilty to the 2004 murder of his wife Jennifer Corbin and the 1990 killing of former girlfriend Dolly Hearn, family members react. Our Navideh Forghani spoke with Dolly Hearn's brother and found he's relieved to have some closure.
The family says her smile could light up a room. It was sixteen years ago when Dolly Hearn was killed...and it's a day family members say they'll never forget.
"It was in the morning and my parents called me. It was all they could do to relay what had happened. I was totally shocked and stunned. Nothing can prepare you for that type of news."
Carlton Hearn remembers when he first met Barton Corbin...it was thanksgiving....
"He was a personable person. In hyne-sight he did have a way of being a wolf and sheeps clothing. And that's why we was able to pull off what he did for so many years."
On friday, Corbin pleaded guilty to both the 1990 killing of Dolly and also the 2004 murder of his wife Jennifer Corbin. The Hearn family says nothing felt better then hearing him finally plea guilty.
"The wave of emotion that went through that court room, I have never felt that since her death.
Family members say they're happy to finally have answers...but nothing will replace their loss. And they will continue to keep Dolly's memory alive through the Dolly Hearn scholarship at
M-C-G's college of Denistry.
