FORECAST DISCUSSION
Another cold front will approach from the west on today. Our area will be very unstable ahead of this front throughout the day. A warm southerly flow with strong winds aloft are setting the stage for a round of severe weather later this morning through the afternoon and evening. I believe the most active part of our day will be from 1pm until 8pm. The storm prediction center has our entire area in a moderate risk for severe weather. The stronger storms could include damaging winds and large hail, and isolated tornadoes. Locally heavy rain is possible with totals around 1-3″. Please keep an eye to the sky and keep watching our reports at NBC26 to know what’s going on today! Be safe driving on the roadways.
Once this front gets east of us by late Monday night, we expect mainly sunny and mild weather for Tuesday and Wednesday.
A dry cold front will bring cooler air for next Thursday and Friday. Temperatures will be on a cooling trend into the weekend, but no major storms are in the extended outlook.
